Maker of Champions

On April 26, 1973, Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang arrived in the United States to teach traditional Chinese martial arts, and he has cultivated an impressive legacy ever since. He began training in martial arts at the age of 12 and started training with Supreme Master Wang in 1967. He became the 64th Generation Tien Shan Pai Grandmaster in 1990.

Known as the "Maker of Champions," Grandmaster Huang led the U.S. Kuo Shu teams from 1986 to 2000, during which his students achieved numerous victories. Since 1988, he has personally promoted and sponsored tournaments, including the Legacy Tournament and U.S. International Kuo Shu Championship Tournament each year. In 1991, he founded the U.S. Kuo Shu Federation and currently serves as its president. He later became founder and chairman of The World Kuo Shu Federation in 2002.

Grandmaster Huang's contributions have been widely recognized. Inside Kung Fu magazine named him "One of the Most Impactful Martial Artists in the 20th Century" in 1999 and "One of the Most Influential Chinese Martial Arts Masters of the Past 30 Years" in 2003. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for USKSF in 2000 and TWKSF in 2018.

The growth of Kuo Shu worldwide is a testament to Grandmaster Huang's dedication in promoting Tien Shan Pai kung fu and internal martial arts in over 30 countries. He continues to support Chinese martial arts through seminars, elevating the standards of instruction, demonstrations, and competitions.
