At-Home Activities for Kids to Get Them Moving More
Physical activity is important for children to develop strong bones, better flexibility, good energy, and even improved concentration at school.
Activities for Kids
We compiled some fun games that double as healthy exercises and other exercises for kids that are simple and can be done at home.
1. Squats
Squats can seem like a challenging workout even adults struggle with, but we can make it kid-friendly. Squats offer benefits such as endurance building, improved self-confidence, and strength. To make this exercise easy for your child, you can place a stool beneath them and let the kid’s bum only graze the stool before they quickly stand again. It can be a fun kids’ workout when you get your child excited about keeping their bum from falling on the seat.
2. Skipping
Skipping is one exercise activity that kids often take up as a game. It’s fun and can be done with friends. Skipping increases the heart rate, improves strength, and works out the entire body. It also helps with balance and coordination and boosting brain activity. It’s a suitable exercise for kids anytime.
3. Stretching or yoga
4. Jumping jacks
Tell your child to stretch their arms and legs out like a starfish while jumping, and that will put some fun in your jumping jack exercise for kids. Jumping is beneficial for building muscle strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness.
5. Ping Pong
Table games are a kid’s favorite, and even if you don’t have a ping-pong table, you can still make it work. Ping pong allows kids to run around, hit the ball, and try to overcome obstacles. Improvise with home items, and both you and your child can enjoy the health benefits of the game.
6. Tag
The game of tag effectively doubles as a good kids workout because it involves a good deal of running, thinking, and fun. Running is the easiest way to help kids stay active, maintain a healthy weight, and strengthen their muscles.
7. Children’s Kung Fu
